The Trouble with Sequels...
I am happy!
Let's start from there. My general disposition is happy. I have grown, in more ways than one. I have changed, in more ways than I can list. Is my world still going to shit? In some ways, yes, and yet, in spite of that, I'm happy. I have stories to tell, and even more to keep to myself, but here goes another attempt at this writing thing.
I have many issues with sequels, especially those that were not intended when the first chapter closed. Where do we pick up the story from? Do we continue from the end of the last chapter? Do we tell the story from where the characters currently are, and maybe fill gaps as we go along? Do we keep the same characters? Introduce new ones? Do we have flashbacks reflecting on the last chapter? Do we pretend like the last chapter never even happened, and just pen a new, possibly unrelated one?
One of the questions I've had to deal with is whether to start a new blog with a totally new identity, and just allow myself a blank slate. That seemed quite appealing, and would have its own benefits. A leopard cannot change its spots though, so I figured I might as well keep the identity. If anyone still remembers it from the past, then maybe they'll try to follow the story and, hopefully, be glad I didn't fall off the edge of a cliff.
If you're a new reader, and have read this far, you might have figured out that there was an old blog, which doesn't exist anymore. If you're an old reader, welcome back. I'll try to do at least one post a week, if my schedule allows. If I can, I'd like to write more about how I feel. A tiny bit about my thoughts, and as little as possible about events.
For now, I'm content just being back. Do give the blog a follow, and maybe spread the word?
